I know people who lose weight ridiculously easily, and others who have tried for years. I'd say the first thing -- is don't compare yourself to your boyfriend. Men and women's metabolisms are radically different and their body chemistry will react differently to what they are doing.

For working out? This is the real bitch -- and the one that I have to remind myself when I get sick of the gym and I'm currently not going so I need to take my own advice -- your body takes time to change. If you think about how long it's taken you to get where you're current at, you are fighting to change what's taken months/years. There is one of those exercise motivational demonic posters online that says something like it takes one month to get your body used to the work, two month for you to notice, three months for someone to notice. Or something like that? IDK -- but it makes sense. It is a long and arduous process.

You mentioned that you joined the gym -- have you considered any other their classes? One of the reasons I joined the gym (as opposed to doing it at home) is because of the classes that the gym offers and because of the motivation. Also since I'm not going those cool classes aren't doing me a lot of good

And -- aside from your boyfriend, do you have any work out buddies? And I don't mean someone to go to the gym with -- personally I hate going to the gym with people I know .... it's a weird self-conscious thing -- but someone who you can be like, "Yeah, man, I did Zumba and walked a mile" ? Or make a weekly workout post -- something that you can look back on and say, "Wow last month I was just walking ... now I'm doing yoga, zumba, and weights".

:) But, you're doing great and you've made the first step -- which is to change your habits and join a gym. Keep your chin up, you're doing great!
