Teen Wolf - S3E8 - Visionary

A little late but my thoughts on last week's episode-

I liked the episode for the most part. It was mostly filler, but I didn't mind getting some backstory on Derek, Decaulion, and the Hale's.

I didn't think I'd really be interested in young!Derek's romance with Paige, but the actors had good chemistry. I hope there's more to the story because Derek's actions to turn Page are massively fucked up.

I liked the unreliable narrator aspect of the two tales especially at the end when we got to see that Scott and Stiles weren't snowed by Peter and Gerard's lies, not completely. I really hope Stiles does ask Derek about things.

Scott was so hot in that final scene. He can be a badass when he wants to be.

I'd rather Gerard die, but if he's got to be cured for them to stop them having him spew that black gunk, then so be it. It's getting a little much.

I wish I could care about Cora, but I still am annoyed at the lack of questions and answers concerning her and I need her to be more than female!Derek.

Really liked them expanding on Decaulion's backstory and showing that he wasn't always so evil. Felt bad for him after Gerard betrayed him. Glad he has more layers than just a mustache twirling villain. I don't think it excuses anything he's done and I'm not that interested in seeing him redeemed but I liked the story for him.

I don't know how I didn't notice it before, maybe it was because of the glasses, or how they decided to dress past Decaulion, but I really noticed in this episode how much Gideon Emery looks like Hugh Jackman. I kept thinking "What's Wolverine doing in Beacon Hills?"

Loved the editing in the episode, especially the cut from Peter claiming he was Derek's confidante to seeing that he was really just a peeping perv.

It was nice to see that Derek did have a loving mother. It made the comparisons to Scott hold a little more weight.

Okay, now I'm stuck trying to remember his loving mother...it'll come to me.
I know, I know...the whole Peter thing. He's got nothing better to do than to orchestrate Derek's romances? What was his real motivation in wanting Paige to be turned? He couldn't know she'd die. Why were his eyes already blue? Why was he so close to Derek's age? Why did Derek look Native American? What the hell?
I agree with liking to see bad ass Scott. So much of the time I am distracted by the odd angle of his jaw. It was funny that time Stiles actually mentioned it. It would have been really funny if when Scott held Gerard's hand to take his pain, black goo had come out of Scott's mouth! LOL!
Cora is soooooo boring!
PS And, omg! You're right about Hugh Jackman!

His mother, at least I'm assuming that was his mother, was Talia, the wolf that turned into a woman in the early scene with the different packs, and the woman comforting Derek at the end.

Not sure what Peter's real motivations were. Not sure about the age thing either, especially since this couldn't have been that long ago due to Gerard and Chris's appearance.

LOL. I've been reading a lot of TW fanfic lately and seen the whole crooked jaw thing recently, and honestly until I saw those mentions I hadn't even noticed it.

When Scott took Gerard's hand I did think something might happen, that Gerard would do something bad to Scott.

I thought the way this episode was done was really well.

I loved the unreliable narrator's version. They said something and showed something else was kind of awesome.

All in all, I enjoyed this episode too and was sad when Paige died. ♥

Yeah, I liked that we heard Gerard and Peter's skewed versions but saw the truth.

I knew from the beginning that Paige would probably have a tragic end, but the scene between her and Derek was sad.

It was a little jarring how the episode has youngPeter, but Chris and the others were just as they are now. Perhaps it ties in with the whole werewolves and aging thing we don’t really know how works.

I’m very pleased with how the alpha pack has been written, they could have easily gone the black and white route, but they are written as more than your average bad-guy with only darkness in them. Decaulion is a much more interesting and dynamic character now that we know more about him. I’ll vote for him being the one to kill off Gerald.

I have a feeling before we get to the break after the first 12 episodes, that there'll be information given that will shade some more light on what we have already seen and explain things a little better.

That's something I thought about after. I'm glad to see the actor who played young Peter, but showing him and then having Chris and Gerard not much younger than they were in present day is pretty jarring.

I'd definitely root for Decaulion to get revenge on Gerard.

I hope so. I wasn't entirely pleased with how they wrapped up season 2, but I hope we finally do get some important questions answered. It took long enough just finding out what Deaton is.
