Day 16 - Your guilty pleasure show

I'd probably go with The Game Show network's Baggage. Reason numero uno I didn't intend to watch was because Jerry Springer was hosting. I don't hate the man; I thought he was adorable on Dancing With the Stars. But his talk show is a disgrace and I stopped watching that crap ages ago. I knew this game show might be Jerry Springer show in game show fashion. The premise was ripe for tackiness. A woman or man is presented with three potential dates and has to chose one based on the baggage they present. There's three levels: smalles, medium, and largest piece of baggage. The baggage is something that, generally, you probably wouldn't find out about someone until months into a relationship. Like someone still sleeps in the same bed as their mother (that was actually on the show recently.) Then at the end the main contestant reveals their biggest baggage and the person they pick has to decide whether they still want to go out with that person.

It's cheesy and tacky, and I don't believe any kind of love match transpires between these people. But Jerry actually gets in a lot of funny lines and it can be interesting to see what kind of baggage people come up with. I feel even more guilty that I got my boyfriend to watch a few episodes of the show.

I spent most of last weekend and the beginning of this week practically sequestered finishing up my [livejournal.com profile] merlinreversebb fic. So I didn't have time to catch up on the movies I still have to see before the Academy Awards, so I'm catching up on that this weekend. Of the best picture nominees, I'm not going to be able to see Django Unchained, which I wasn't too gung ho for anyway, or Amour, not playing anywhere near me.

I've seen The Impossible, Beasts of the Southern Wild, and Les Miserables. I still have to see Argo, The Sessions, and Zero Dark Thirty.

Anyway, on to [livejournal.com profile] paperlegends. I finally signed up. Now I just have to pick one of my ideas or go with the crazy idea of attempting to do both.

I made the mistake of looking at the prompts over at [livejournal.com profile] merlin_muses. Ugh so much goodness over there. Damn you, Merlin fans and your amazingly creative minds!
