He's done it again!

Mike has begun to branch out from just doing manips of his fellow horror club members to inserting some of his family members in his creations. He did a couple of manips with pictures of his sister and then one with her husband. He asked me about doing one of me (if I had any requests, which I didn't really) so I knew one with me was coming. He was kind of hilariously secretive about it, guarding his computer when he saw me about to sneak a peek. And I am really glad I had no idea what he was creating because he was so shocked and delighted when I saw what he created!

Fabulousness under the cut! )

I just can't get over it! It's PERFECT! Again, like the last one, I'm just amazed that he did it at all and then to see how great it came out - like the way he has Merlin's hand around my waste - so awesome!

After he did the first "Magic Merlin" manip for me, I offered to make him any creative thing that he wanted - though I really meant writing him a story (when we first met he asked me to write a story, but I never got around to doing it.) At first, he passed on my offer, but then he said that he was looking at my computer and saw some of the gifs I have and he wanted one. The only problem was that he wanted one of someone's head exploding - not any specific head, any exploding head scene would do. My problem is that I can't stand watching scenes like that. It's one of my no-no type of scenes - along with decapitations, throat slicing, people being shot in the head, anything in a torture porn movie, etc.

I was wondering if there would be somebody who could make me a gif of an exploding head. I wouldn't want to see it, but if you could make it and send me the file or whatever. I would be eternally grateful and would extend the offer of a fic of your choice to you.

Mike has always been really accepting of my love of slash, and even more surprisingly, of porn. I'm surprised by it because Mike is not someone at all comfortable with slash. A common joke between us is me constantly threatening to make him watch Brokeback Mountain. Watching guys kiss, and more, definitely not for him.

When we first got together I didn't really bring up loving slash and certainly not loving porn. But I never kept it a secret that I wrote slash, especially Merlin/Arthur. I'd always mention my writing and he'd want to read it until I mentioned there would be boy kissing. While he didn't want to read it, it never squicked him out that I was into it.

I think Mike extrapolated about my interest in porn because of my love of slash and because I liked gay themed films. But I never wanted to admit and certainly not let him see it. But again, Mike surprised me, when he saw true evidence of my porn watching. One day I was watching some porn and Mike came home a little earlier than I expected. I paused the video and minimized it to get to my internet browser...or at least I thought I minimized it. I went away from my computer and Mike came in and set his stuff down and all of a sudden I heard "Oh my God what is that guy doing?" But he didn't say it in a horrified way, but started laughing. I ran over and saw that the video didn't minimize and it was paused on a shot of some guy riding another one. I exited out and was completely mortified. But Mike was still laughing, and other than teasing me a little, had no problem with it.

We've had this Photo Shop type computer program for awhile, ever since his mom gave it to me because she didn't know what to do with it. I never used it for a long time, but Mike asked for it a few weeks ago. He'd joined this horror group on Facebook and used it to start making these manips to entertain everyone. He's made stuff using members of the groups faces and putting them in scenes from Jaws, Friday the Thirteenth, The Hills Have Eyes, and other things. He's already really good at it already and his group members love his pics, they've called him a "genius."

Well, imagine my surprise when he turned to me today and told me he had worked on something for me. Suffice it to say I got a huge, huge laugh when I saw what it was.

Funny/Hot Manip Right This Way... )

SO AWESOME! It may not be the best manip ever, but I think it's so cool, and I love that he knew me so well to know how much I loved those guys and was willing to do that for me to give me a laugh and some eye candy to enjoy. The bodies he used were actors - not sure who - from Magic Mike (I should have known something was up when he was looking at his computer a few days ago and all of a sudden started talking about Magic Mike and how he had no idea it was a movie about strippers. I could tell he was looking at pictures because he had the squinty look of "I'd rather not be looking at this.")

I'll be laughing/drooling over this for a long time to come. :DD

Two weeks late, but wanted to post about what a great birthday I had. I already thanked everybody, but wanted to give another thanks to everyone who made LJ posts, sent me private messages, sents v-gifts, or posted happy birthday wishes on Twitter. It really meant a lot.

It was a great day, even though the first part of the day was spent doing mundane things like grocery shopping and driving around dropping off or picking up job applications. But Mike had the day off and we got to spend the day together so that was mostly what I was happy about. Mike woke me up by telling me he had wanted to make me french toast (his french toast is heavenly) but the dogs made a mess in the new greenhouse Jean built, so he spent the morning cleaning up their mess. But he made me an omelet instead, which was great anyway so morning wasn't ruined. It was also fabulous that my birthday was on a Wednesday and was a cheat day for me, so I got to pig out as much as I wanted. Mike took me for ice cream and hot dog sliders, which were delicious.

It happened a little earlier than I had planned, but we went and saw X-Men: Days of Future Past which kind of upheld an accidental birthday tradition. When X-Men: Last Stand came out, I saw it on my birthday as well, though that wasn't planned. I had a horrible birthday that year - my mother and her boyfriend drove me around all day doing shit they wanted to do and I was stuck in the car. So finally really late my mom took pity on me and dropped me off at the movie theater and I saw LS. I have the unpopular opinion of actually really loving that movie (I never really get why people hate it so hardcore. I definitely think there are missteps and it has its flaws, but I don't think it's the clusterfuck people make it out to be.)

When First Class came out, I think it was my first birthday with Mike, and he asked me what I wanted to do. I had no really desires to do much, so I suggested going to the movies. There wasn't much else I wanted to so, so we saw FC. It's not that I didn't want to see FC, but I was kind of bummed that they were re-booting the series and wasn't as excited for the movie, but I love James McAvoy so I was longing forward to seeing his take on Xavier. I ended up being really pleasantly surprised by the movie and enjoying it.

After seeing Days of Future Past I think I have a new favorite X-Men movie. I really loved it. It was so enjoyable and fun and entertaining. It didn't take itself too seriously, but wasn't ridiculous and had good emotional weight to it, and my head didn't hurt too much with the time travel aspects.

DOFP spoilers )

Mike had asked me what I wanted him to make for dinner for my birthday and he makes excellent, excellent meatballs, so he made that for me and we had that after we got back. No cake because Jean and Greg were working during the day, so we had that on the next Saturday.

I only did minimal angsting about getting older. I had a couple of (irrational) moments here and there in the week ahead of my birthday where I freaked about it. I kind of had this thought process of okay I'm one more year from being 35, which means I'm that much closer to 40, half my life's over, and I'm that much closer to death (no offense those over 40 on my F-list :)) I only really had one of those moments on my birthday. My sister joked innocently enough about me being an old lady. I laughed at first and then I got weird again, but it quickly passed.

So not the most eventful day, but I definitely enjoyed it! (It ended with birthday sex, what's not to like. :))

Reason #4,597,675 that I love my boyfriend...

So a couple of months ago he decided to grow a goatee. I think it was just a spur of the moment thing. I didn't really notice until he had about two days' worth of growth and asked if he was growing something. I've never particularly been a fan of facial hair on guys. In certain cases, it can look hot, but aesthetically I prefer clean shaven. Plus, I worry about getting a rash when I kiss him. It's bad enough with stubble.

But I'm not really a stranger to Mike and facial hair. One of the first pictures I saw of him on Eharmony was with this hideous looking 70's porn 'stache; was not a fan, to put it mildly. He still had it on our first date. After awhile, I didn't really notice. I was prepared to deal with it. But by our second date, he had shaved it off. I think that was because his job was pretty strict about facial hair at the time. So I never had to deal with any full on facial hair with him, until now. But I ended up thinking that the goatee looked really nice on him. And the facial scratching wasn't too bad, so again I decided to deal with it.

A couple of times he told me that soooo many people at work were giving him compliments. I thought that was really cute. There was even some girl who told him that he must keep his goatee forever. It did kind of suit him. But around the time that I saw this picture of Eoin Macken he posted on Instagram with his face shaven, and I looked at this picture of Mike and me, I kind of had a feeling of missing Michael's regular face. But I didn't want to tell him that. I knew that if I did, Mike might take it the wrong way (not in a oversensitive way since he's not like that) and think that I was trying to hint around for him to shave, which I didn't really want, just because I know he liked it and he was getting so many compliments. But then one day, we were just hanging out on his day off and I just decided to tell him. Lo and behold, either the next day or a couple of days later, he announces he's shaving it off. I was kind of sad, but really exicted later on when he went in to shave it. I was even more excited when I saw his face. The goatee look was good, but non-goatee is just better. It took years off his face and he had this cute baby face.

I asked him what he was going to tell his co-workers about it and he teased me that he'd tell them I'd made him shave it off. And the next day I asked him about it and that's exactly what he told them, according to him anyway. Which I thought was funny. But the next day I was kind of feeling bad about it, and asked him what everyone thought, and he said everyone missed the goatee. So I said "well, I like it better this way." And he said, "Then that's the only thing that matters." So....yeah I love him. :)

Plus, a few days later he comes home from work and when I get into our room I see him putting this small bundle of flowers on my nightstand. I ask him why he bought them and he said he just wanted to do something special for me. :)

Ok, so this isn't a complete, sappy gush fest, what's everyone's take on facial hair? Like I said, I prefer clean-shaven. Even on Colin and Bradley, I don't particularly love it when they have full grown beards. A light scruff is sexy, but even then I prefer clean-shaven.

So last week was the anniversary of my boyfriend Michael and I's first date, and it was also the first time we met in person(we met online.) Mike took some vacation days and for the first couple of days we went up to this fancy-ish hotel we'd visited once, and before we went home, we went to Epcot. The hotel had its own spa and I was interested in getting a massage, since I'd never done it before, but the prices were pretty high and didn't really think, or expect it to happen. But my boyfriend decided to splurge those few days and put the expensive charges on his credit card. It became basically an anniversary/Christmas present. Which I'm fine with. We decided on the couples massage. It was really interesting. Mike looked so adorable in his big, fluffy robe. I wish I had got a picture of it. Mike was pretty adamant on having a female masseuse. I wasn't so sure about what I preferred and just left it up to them. I got a male masseuse. He was good, though sometimes the pressure he used, especially on my neck and back was a little too much. Which was kind of my own fault, he asked me several times if I wanted him to use less pressure. But I felt that he was the professional, so he would know best. Plus, I thought the more pressure, maybe the better result. You may not know it to look at me, but I have a high tolerance for pain when I think I can get me something I want. Like when I put relaxer in my hair, no matter how bad the burn, I leave it in as long as possible because I know the results will be better. It was a mostly fun, enjoyable experience. I did get a little embarrassed when he was doing a sand treatment on my feet and I started giggling uncontrollably. Very ticklish area for me.

I hadn't been to Epcot since I was seven, and I thought it was horribly boring then. But Mike was really excited to see their hydroponics exhibit. It wasn't as boring as I had remembered, though still not loads of fun. But the experience was ten times better because I was with him. Unfortunately, it rained towards the end of the day and my hair got wet, which is a big no no for me. There was an area of the park, where each section was divided into different countries. One section had shops and food dedicated to italy, or Germany, or Norway, etc. I had to laugh when it ended up raining the hardest when we were in "London." We got our picture taken with several different Disney characters. We saw this Michael Jackson 3D film that they've had since 1986, Captain EO. I am now convinced I saw that movie the first time I was at Epcot and blocked it from my mind like a traumatic experience. Mike and I agreed that it was one of the worst things we've ever seen.

It's been a wonderful vacation, and I'm really going to hate it when he has to go back to work in a couple of days.

I don't really want to be one of those girls who's "my boyfriend this" and "my boyfriend that" and every turn. But I've waited a really long time for a boyfriend and I've managed to land a really good one so I can't help gushing ocassionally(ok a lot.) So commence gushing...

My boyfriend, Michael's job really sucks. He has to work tremendously long hours and a really crappy co-worker that makes his job harder. So, because one of his thousand bosses is covering for one of the many guys on vacation he had to drive up to the main offices to get his work phone updated. He also took the aforementioned crappy co-worker's phone with him as well. The main offices are almost two hours away, which is a bit of hassle when there are stupid errands like this and many work meetings. So, we went up there and he was chit chatting with the guy who was working on the phone. He asked if we took Michael's work truck(because if he used that truck then the company pays for the gas.) he said he couldn't take it because his company doesn't allow him to have passengers in that car and he didn't want to spend half the day on his day off without me. A small thing but a very 'aww' moment for me. The guy smiled too and said "He must be a good boyfriend. You've got a keeper." And, yes, I agreed.

Also the trip turned out to kind of be worth it because one of his bosses gave us a free $50 gift card for Mike being such a good team player. Free lunch! Woohoo!
