I do remember being a little confused about that moment when I first saw it. Scott was a little bit hostile there and it felt like an unecessary moment. But I don't blame Scott too much. I don't think Derek's done a whole lot to really gain Scott's trust. After that moment, Derek and Peter try and kill Jackson even though Derek knows Scott wanted jackson to be saved. It's things like that, I think, that keep Scott from trusting Derek. Plus, I didn't really consider Derek down in that moment. I mean, he was literally down on the ground, but I don't think he was in a bad place emotionally. Scott had just given him good news, that he'd outsmarted Gerard.
