Sorry for the late reply. Thanks for the question, it really made me think and discover something I hadn't realized.

When I was a kid, I didn't get to celebrate the holidays, so my favorite part about this time of year was Winter Break from school and not having to get up early to go to school.

Now, one of my favorite things is it getting colder. Living in Florida, the constant heat you sort of get used to but I really enjoy the respite when the temperature starts going down.

But I think my favorite thing is the traditions. I'm not someone who's great with a lot of change and I find comfort in the traditions and how, while there are changes, so much stays the same - listening to the same music, watching my favorite Holiday movies...It gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling. And now that I'm starting my own family, I'm enjoying sharing those traditions and creating new ones.

Like so many others, over the years I've constantly made a New Year's resolution to try and lose weight. Most years I fail miserably and don't even get to the point to even start trying to lose weight. I've lost weight a few times before, but this year feels different. It probably helps that I got to a weight that I found unacceptable (almost 200 pounds) and I had a specific goal of wanting to lose weight for my wedding. But I think the biggest difference is having done this with Michael. We decided to try to lose weight together and we've kept at it and dieted together and exercised together (unfortunately thanks to some weird practices by Gold's gym, we quit the gym a few months ago.) But Mike still tries to do exercises at home and I'm on the treadmill at least five times a week. And because of that, for the year so far (we still have a few weeks left in the year but I'll doubt I'll lose much more) I've lost over 30 pounds.
