Hope everyone's had a great holiday/holiday weekend!
Got more Christmas cards. Thank you for your awesome sweet cards -

Jean decided she didn't want to have to move the furniture around to put the tree in the corner of the living room, she they decided to put the tree out in the foyer.

And I guess they didn't want that spot cluttered, because they also got a smaller tree, which is where we put all of the presents.

I also got a funny surprise when I came one day because Greg got a mini version of the famous tree from A Christmas Story.

Isn't he the cutest?

A couple of Christmas selfies with Rena.

Had a nice Christmas. It was fairly uneventful, which is the way I like it. I've really only been celebrating Christmas since I got together with Mike (since my mom doesn't celebrate it) and what we do every year doesn't really vary. The last couple of years we've had a couple of people over (Jean's former stepfather and Greg's aunt this year) who we have dinner with. But we spend the morning watching TV and opening the presents.
For me, a must for Christmas is watching Home Alone, Home Alone 2, and A Christmas Story. This year we also watched A Muppet's Christmas Carol, which was like the twentieth Christmas Carol story I'd seen that week. I know there are so many different versions of that story, but I usually don't watch so many in one year, usually Scrooged is about it, but for some reason this year I just saw a lot of them.
This was what I got this year:

Mike got me 22 Jump Street. I felt a little bad because he'd told me that he'd got me a comedy we hadn't seen yet, but then I still went ahead and rented it before Christmas. It didn't occur to me until after, especially when I remembered he got me 21 Jump Street a couple of Christmases ago, that it was probably what he got me this year. Ultimately it didn't really matter. It didn't bother Mike, he would have got it for me anyway since we liked it when we saw it.
He also got me a gift card to the movies and something else I'll talk about in another post.
Greg really likes getting pictures put on things at Wal-Mart and giving it as gifts. He got Jean last year (and this year) some cups and blankets with cute photos of her grandkids and the dogs. He got us the really nice plate with one of our engagement pictures on it. We still haven't decided where we can put it.
Jean got me a nice sweater, leggings, purse, matching earrings and necklace, boots (which she had me try on before Christmas because I'm not great with shoes), and a scrapbook set. I don't scrapbook, but I figure we can put some of the wedding pictures on it.
I also got some stocking stuffers like candy, nail files, hard candy nail polish, and a hair band.

Date: 2014-12-29 06:20 am (UTC)I'm glad you got the card although I have to say that I'm a bit annoyed about the post office. b“Because I sent it away the 12th. That's about two weeks before christmas. A card to the US shouldnt take more than a week. So theoretically I had one more week as backup - and it still came too late. *hrmph*
